OHSAS 18001, Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series, (officially BS OHSAS 18001) is an internationally applied British standard for occupational health and safety management sys-tems. With an occupational health and safety management system it can be demonstrated to all stakeholders that the working conditions in the organization are well organized, that occupational health and safety risks have been listed and evaluated and that employees have been encouraged to learn from their experiences. It is a generally recognized and popular Arbo management system.
ISO 45001 is a new ISO standard and the successor of the OHSAS 18001 for work-related safety and health (“Arbo”). In international literature this is called “Occupational Health and Safety” (OH&S).
